Every day for the last 12 years I have sent a letter to the Pacific Ocean. They eventually get returned to me by the Post Office with markings stating, “Return to Sender.” Sometimes I get handwritten messages from postal carriers that are pretty enthralling.

Ready for Battle (#cmdevo #everydaythings)
Read Ephesians 6:10-20Today people are celebrating Memorial Day in America – a day where we recognize and honor all those who have fought and died in active military service. While some take this time to gather with family and barbeque, it is important to truly understand what its true meaning is and how we can apply it to our spiritual lives. It seems as though almost everyday there is something that we are up against – something challenging our day. In Ephesians 6, Paul talks about the importance of putting on the armor of God. We are encouraged to be strong in the Lord and stand against the wiles of the devil by putting on our armor. Wiles are things that happen day to day that can drastically change our day – often by causing us to act in a way we shouldn’t. Without the armor we are prone to making bad decisions that will harm our “war strategies”.The pieces of the armor include the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit, and the helmet of Salvation. All these pieces properly prepare each child of God for the troubles we face in our day. It isn’t something that we put on once a year, month, or week. It is something that we need on a daily basis!Think about a man in war: He doesn’t put on his armor when on the first day of battle and not the next. He also doesn’t put it on after the enemy has attacked him because by that time it serves little to no purpose for him. A true soldier is ready at all times and, as soldiers for Christ, we should be ready, too!________________________________________________________Devotional Series: Everyday Things by the Color Movement (#cmdevo #everydaythings)Posted by: Tiffani // Personal // Color Movement
